What is Flowstopping?
Flowstopping is safe and easy to use. It is a cost-effective system for maintaining, repairing, and modifying low-pressure distribution networks while preserving continuity of supply.
The entire procedure is totally gas-free, carried out through an arrangement of valves, and uses airbags to create a seal to prevent gas flow beyond the airbag.
GIS/E4
This Gas Industry Standard (GIS) specifies the requirements for inflatable, self-centring bag stoppers.
These bag stoppers are used with the supported bag type’s low-pressure range of flow-stopping equipment. They are for use on cast iron, ductile iron, steel, and polyethylene (PE) pipes, carrying natural or manufactured gas. Sizes up to and including 300 mm (12 in) nominal inside diameter.
